A pedestrian was struck by a truck on Redstone Hill Road around lunch time, police reported.
Police said that today, at about 11:44 a.m., officers responded to the area around 295 Redstone Hill Road for a serious motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
Police said Jana Olsen, 33, of Bristol had been walking westbound along Redstone Hill Road when she was struck by a truck. She had been walking along the curbed area of the roadway. The truck was also westbound on Redstone Hill Road when it struck Olsen, said police.
Olsen was transported by Bristol EMS to a Hartford area hospital, said police. As of Thursday afternoon, she was listed in stable condition with head and back injuries.
The truck was operated by Arthur Evan, 76, of Hartford, said police. He was operating a 2008 Chevrolet truck with a dump body. He was not injured. The truck is registered to a Hartford business, V. Procaccini & Sons, said police.
Officers are continuing the investigation and interviewing witnesses to the crash, said police.
