Two drivers are injured after a serious car crash that happened at the intersection of Mix Street and Coventry Road today.
According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, the crash involved two vehicles, including a 2012 Toyota Scion and a 1996 Toyota Avallone that collided in the intersection. The release reported that 78-year-old John Sabovik of Farmington was in his Toyota southbound on Mix Street, and 88-year-old Claire Holden of Bristol was in her vehicle northbound on Mix Street at the time of the crash. Both drivers were sent to a Hartford area hospital for treatment, and Sabovik appeared to have serious injuries, the release said. Holden’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, the release said.
Traffic officers are investigating the cause of the crash. Anyone with information is urged to call the Traffic Division office at (860) 584-3031.
