A man was killed late Friday when he was struck by a vehicle.

Police said that on Aug. 8, around 9:24 p.m., officers responded to the area near 611 Wolcott Rd. after receiving a report about a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a male victim, Ronald S. Perille Jr., 27, of Bristol on the roadway with critical injuries to his head and chest.

Officers and Bristol EMS provided medical care to the victim and transported him to BristolHospital. A short while later, he was pronounced dead from the injuries sustained in the crash.

Police said Perille was struck by a vehicle operated by Sara Hubeny, 31, of Terryville. She had been operating a 2010 Mercedes Benz heading north on Wolcott Road, just south of Tunxis Road. She was not injured in the crash.

Police said just before Perille was struck, he parked his car on the west side of Wolcott Street, exited the vehicle, walked east across the roadway, and was struck in the northbound lane. His vehicle, a 2009 Cadillac CTS was not damaged in the crash.

As of Saturday, police said the investigation is continuing and no enforcement action has been taken. The department’s START (Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team) is conducting the investigation.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Bristol Police Traffic Division at (860) 584-3030.
