From Nov. 1 to Nov. 30, members of the Bristol Police Department will participate in “No Shave November” as a way to grow cancer awareness in the community.
According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, the rules of No Shave November involve participants putting down their razors for 30 days and donating their monthly hair maintenance expenses to the American Cancer Society. Each participating member of the police department will donate $50, and 100 percent of all donations will support the American Cancer Society, the release said.
A web-based, non-profit organization, No Shave November raises funds to support cancer prevention, research, education about cancer prevention, and assistance for those battling the disease, the release said. The initiative is a month-long journey in which participants give up shaving and grooming to spark conversations while raising cancer awareness, the release said.
