Bristol police are trying to find the driver of a suspicious vehicle who followed a 12-year-old girl walking her dog last Friday in the area of Concord and Fairfield Streets.

According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, the driver of a red pick-up truck, who is described as an older white man, stopped by the girl and made a comment to her. The girl, who was walking her dog by the intersection of Concord and Fairfield Streets, did not understand the comment, as it sounded like a foreign language, the release said. She ignored the comment, but the driver continued east on Fairfield Street, the release said.

Shortly after, the girl was walking on Concord Street and the driver began to slowly follow her, the release said. The girl became scared, and ran toward her home on Henderson Street, while the driver returned to his truck and left the area, the release said. According to the release, the girl reported no injuries.

Officers are investigating the incident and attempting to identify the driver of the truck. The red pick-up truck also is described as a newer model with silver bumpers and side steps. The man driving the truck also is described as average height and weight with small round eyeglasses and brown hair with gray streaks. The man was wearing a gray shirt at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Officer Scott Verillo at (860) 584-3000.
