A Watertown man faces an infraction for not granting the right of way to a pedestrian on North Main Street today.

According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, 69-year-old Frederick Fasano was heading northbound on North Main Street when he did not see 81-year-old Mary Dutcher of Bristol crossing on the crosswalk, and struck her. Dutcher was walking across North Main Street by City Hall when she was struck by Fasano’s vehicle, the release said. She had been crossing westbound on North Main Street in a legally marked crosswalk, and was treated for minor injuries at a Hartford area hospital, the release said.

Fasano, who was not injured, was issued an infraction with an answer date of April 15, the release said. He was charged with two violations, including failure to yield to a pedestrian within a crosswalk and failure to exercise due care to avoid a pedestrian.

No further law enforcement action is expected.
