What Bristol police suspected as a small-scale drug lab being operated out of an apartment on Emmett St. this afternoon turned out not to be drug-related.
According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, officers responded to 460 Emmett Street after a report of suspicious materials and odor in a multi-unit apartment complex. The Bristol Fire Department was then contacted, and the building was evacuated with no reported injuries, the release said.
When the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency (DEEP) responded to the scene, it determined that the odor and materials were not hazardous or drug-related, the release said. All residents were then let back into the building, and no further action was taken, the release said.
