Several Bristol police officers face minor injuries after being assaulted by a man who refused to cooperate during an arrest on Thursday.
Last evening, three officers responded to 187 Morningside Drive to investigate an assault, according to a press release from the Bristol Police Department. Subsequent investigation revealed that 36-year-old William Brown of Bristol assaulted a 41-year-old man who refused to provide him with a ride, the release said. When Brown was requested to submit to arrest, he refused to cooperate and physically assaulted the three officers, the release said.
Brown was charged with three counts of assault on a police officer, second degree breach of peace, interfering with a police officer and third degree assault. He was held on a $100,000 bond pending his arraignment at Bristol Superior Court.
