Drivers identified in car crash on Wolcott Road

Bristol police have identified the two drivers who were seriously injured in a two-car collision on Wolcott Road in the area of Indian Trail last Saturday.
According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, 56-year-old David Kozikowski of Wolcott was heading south on Wolcott Road when his 2013 Ford Escape crossed over the centerline and sideswiped a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The driver of the Jeep was 31-year-old Matthew Lyga of Bristol, who was heading north on Wolcott Road, the release said. Both drivers were hurt and their vehicles were damaged, according to the release.
Lyga was treated at Waterbury Hospital and later release, while Kozikowski was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment, the release said. Kozikowski is currently listed in serious condition, the release said.
Traffic Division officers continue to investigate the crash and no enforcement action has been taken. Anyone with information is asked to call (860) 584-3030.
