One man was arrested and three people were injured in a Sunday night domestic dispute involving a sledge hammer and a patio block, police reported
Police were called to 79 Tulip Street at approximately 6:50 p.m. Sunday. Several officers responded to the incident. An investigation revealed that David Buchelli, 53, of 79 Tulip St. in Bristol had assaulted two family members, which in turn resulted in three people getting injured including one being transported to Bristol Hospital.
Police said a 47-year-old male visiting the residence attempted to intervene. Police said Buchelli assaulted him with a sledge-
hammer and a patio block causing severe facial injuries to this male. The victim was transported to Bristol Hospital by ambulance.
Police said Buchelli also damaged a vehicle causing an estimated $3,000 damages while at 79 Tulip St. He refused to let officers fingerprint him while he was being booked at police headquarters.
Buchelli was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree, two counts of assault in the third degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, breach of peace in the second degree, and refusal to be fingerprinted.
Buchelli was held on a $100,000 bond pending his presentment at Bristol Superior Court Monday morning.
