The Bristol Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who attempted to rob the Webster Bank located in the Bristol Plaza at 575 Farmington Ave.

Police said that on Saturday, June 26 at about 4:45 p.m.,  a male carrying a clipboard with a manila folder attached entered the bank. Police said the male approached a teller and revealed a robbery note that was on the clipboard. Police said the note demanded money.

After revealing the note, police reported, the male exited the bank without any money. Witnesses said that the male fled the scene in a black mini-van west on Farmington Ave. No license plate for the vehicle was obtained, said police. No weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 40 years old, 6’2” tall, wearing an orange Polo baseball cap with the #3 on the side, sunglasses, a long sleeve black shirt with a second pair of sunglasses hanging from the collar, and blue jeans.

A motor vehicle stop June 22 on Third and King streets led to a drug bust and two arrests.

Bristol police reported that on June 22 at 2:59 a.m., officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Third and King streets. Police said the vehicle was occupied by three males. After developing probable cause that the vehicle contained illicit drugs, a Bristol Police Department K-9 unit responded to the scene of the vehicle stop. K-9 “Bronn” was deployed into the vehicle for a drug sniff and indicated to his handler that there were illicit drugs present in the vehicle.

Police said a hand search by officers of the area in the vehicle where “Bronn” had alerted to, resulted in the finding of a significant amount of crack cocaine. The crack cocaine would later be weighed at 102 grams. A further search of the vehicle also discovered a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, an illegal knife and a small number of illegal fireworks. There was also a large sum of cash found within the vehicle.

The driver/lessee of the vehicle was identified as Joshua Bilodeau, age 25, of 472 Broad St. in Bristol, said Police. Bilodeau would later admit to ownership and possession of the illegal drugs, weapons and fireworks, which were all seized. In addition, a total of $1,565.06 in suspected proceeds from drug sales was confiscated, said police.

Bilodeau was subsequently charged with possession of narcotics (crack cocaine), possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, weapons in a vehicle, possession of illegal fireworks, and operating a motor vehicle under suspension.

Police said a male also was in the vehicle– Luis Clarke, 25, of 22 North Turnpike Rd., Wallingford. Clarke initially provided officers with a false name when asked to identify himself. Clarke’s true identity was eventually established and it was discovered he was attempting to avoid an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Bristol, said police. Clarke was ultimately charged with evading responsibility and operating under suspension for the warrant. He was charged additionally with criminal impersonation and interfering with police for his actions in this case. Clarke was released after posting a total of $7,500 in bonds for both cases. He is due to appear in Bristol Superior Court on July 2, said police.

Jason Pinette

Southington police were making a routine traffic stop for a speeding violation but uncovered drugs and weapons in the vehicle. On Saturday, Aug. 4, Jason Pinette, 29, of Bristol was arrested following a search of his vehicle by a police K-9 officer.

During the traffic stop, the officer saw a scale commonly used to weigh drugs. When questioned, Pinette turned over a small marijuana cigarette. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery and seizure of a .40 caliber semiautomatic handgun and a magazine containing 10 bullets. No other drugs were located in the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that Pinette did not have a permit to carry the handgun.

Several law enforcement agencies including Bristol police busted up a narcotic dealing operation on Friday morning.

Bristol resident Matthew Fazzano was nabbed and is facing a slew of drug-related charges and a manslaughter charge, according to Bristol police.

In a press release, Bristol Police Department reported that on Aug. 24, the Bristol Police Narcotics Enforcement Team and Bristol patrol officers, along with the assistance of officers from the Chief State’s Attorney’s Office, Plymouth Police Department, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security executed a search warrant at 55 Cold Springs Rd in Bristol.

The search warrant was the result of a month long investigation into narcotics dealing operation from that address, said police. Along with the search warrant, Bristol Police held four outstanding arrest warrants for a resident of that address, Matthew Fazzino, for the sale of narcotics.

Upon execution of the search warrant, Fazzino was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Bristol Police Department for booking.

While at the Bristol Police Department, Plymouth police officers served an outstanding arrest warrant they held for Fazzino for manslaughter in the first degree and sale of narcotics, related to an overdose death in their town in May.

Matthew W. Fazzino was subsequently charged with four counts of sale of narcotics as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and held on $100,000 court set bond.

Fazzino was also charged with manslaughter in the first Degree and sale of narcotics and held on a $1,000,000 court set bond.

Fazzino was scheduled to be arraigned at Bristol Superior Court Aug. 24.
