Seven Bristol officers were honored during the Bristol Police Commission meeting on Monday.

Officer Craig O’Connor and Detective Michael Brasche both received the Distinguished Service Medal and were recognized as Police Officer of the Month for performing their duties in an exceptional manner when responding to a robbery at TD Bank, according to a press release from the Bristol Police Department.

Officer Alex Hamzy received the Department Silver Star after apprehending two felons wanted for crime in other jurisdictions while on a routine patrol of Page Park in June, the release said.

Hamzy, along with officers Daniel Dwyer and Kevin Cyr, also received the Lifesaving Commendation. In August, all three officers worked together and performed CPR on a 41-year-old man who was in cardiac rest, the release said. According to the on-scene paramedic, the officers’ actions saved a life and did a great job, the release said.

Officers Timothy O’Brien and Timothy Hall also received the Lifesaving Commendation for their quick response to a 74-year-old woman who was having difficulty breathing in August, the release said. After treatment, she was listed in stable condition and ultimately survived, the release said.
