The motorcyclist who lost control of her bike and fell into a river bank earlier today did not suffer any injuries from the crash.
According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, 51-year-old Marie Hoadley of Bristol was making a right turn into a city parking lot at the corner of School Street and West Street when she lost control of her motorcycle. After striking a curb, Hoadley went through the fence and plummeted to the shallow river, the release said. The fall to the river was between eight and 10 feet, the release said. At the time of the accident, Hoadley and her husband were traveling west on School Street on separate motorcycles, the release said.
Hoadley was conscious and alert at the time of the accident, and the Bristol Fire Department took her out of the river bank on a back board before she was sent to Bristol Hospital, the release said.
