A wanted felon was taken into custody by Bristol police early this morning.

According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, officers responded to a Beacon Street residence where they found 25-year-old Daniel Rodriguez hiding in the attic of a garage at 2:45 a.m. Rodriguez, a resident of Bethel, was taken into custody on two outstanding arrest warrants, the release said. He was charged with first degree failure o appear and violation of probation, the release said.

The failure to appear warrant stems from Rodriguez being charged with a bank robbery in Brookfield, the release said. He was able to post bond for those charges, but he subsequently failed to appear for a future court date, according to the release. He also failed to abide by the terms of his probation prompting his probation officer to secure an arrest warrant, the release said.

Rodriguez was held on a $75,000 bond for the failure to appear charge and a $25,000 bond for the violation of probation charge. He was scheduled to appear at Bristol Superior Court today.
