Bristol police have found that the woman involved in a serious car crash that killed a 68-year-old man last October was driving above the speed limit and failed to drive left of a parked vehicle.
According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, an investigation determined that 24-year-old Kasiana Goodman of Waterbury caused the death of Scott Duell as a result of the negligent operation of her vehicle. On Oct. 8, Goodman struck the rear of a septic tank truck that was parked in the area of 477 Waterbury Road, the release said. The next day, Duell died from injuries he sustained in the crash, the release said.
Goodman was arrested yesterday and charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, traveling at an unreasonable speed and failure to drive left of a parked vehicle. She was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and will appear in Bristol Superior Court 17 on Feb. 1.
