Victim identified in serious crash at Riverside Avenue intersection

Bristol police have identified the man involved in a serious motor vehicle crash that happened yesterday at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and East Street.
According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, 57-year-old Antonio Ruiz was operating a scooter eastbound on Riverside Avenue and crashed into a parking lot when he left the right side of the roadway in the East Street area. Unresponsive, Ruiz appeared to have a head injury, and was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, the release said. He currently remains hospitalized in serious condition, the release said.
