A man and a woman were arrested on Thursday morning after police say they were spotted trying to break into vehicles on Burlington Avenue
Officers charged Jared J. Garand, 25, of 79 Birch St. in Unionville, with burglary in the third degree, criminal attempt at larceny sixth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree. Police also arrested Nicole Raboin, 22, of 172 North St., A-1, Bristol with criminal attempt at burglary in the third degree, criminal attempt at larceny sixth degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
Police said that at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded to apartments at 59 Burlington Ave. Police had received a complaint about two suspicious individuals in the parking lot. The complainant provided the dispatcher with a description of the individuals, the vehicle they drove off in, and their direction of travel, said police.
Shortly after the call, police said an officer located the occupied suspect vehicle at the Snow-White Car Wash of 12 Farmington Ave. Subsequent investigation by officers revealed that the male found in this vehicle had illegally entered a parked vehicle at the apartment complex while the female in this vehicle was pulling on door handles of other vehicles attempting to enter.
Garand and Raboin were each held on $10,000 and $5,000 bonds, respectively.
